MHS Students Organize 2013 Pink Out

T-shirts benefit Comets Care, a Student-Run Charity to Support Mason Families

Comets Care… a lot. And all that caring can be seen and shared on Friday, January 25 at 7:30 pmduring the 2013 Pink Out as the Mason Comet boys basketball team takes on Lakota East. 

“This is no ordinary game; the MMS arena will be "Pinked Out" to support the Mason community,” explained Tori Martin, MHS senior.

Mason School Board Reappoints Wise President, Culbertson Vice-President:
School Board Appreciation Month to be Recognized on 1-22-2013

During its first meeting of 2013, the Mason City Schools’ Board of Education unanimously re-appointed Kevin Wise as President, and Marianne Culbertson as Vice-President. Reorganization takes place each year, as required by the Ohio Revised Code. 

Purchase Student-Crafted Ornaments at Local Mason Retailers to Raise Money for Autism Speaks

Mason Intermediate fifth grade teacher Amy Sheets and her Team Character students recently created unique snowflake ornaments to raise money for Autism Speaks.
“During my six years teaching in Mason, Autism has become a cause that is close to my heart.  I have worked with amazing students on the spectrum and wanted to do something in return for the ways they have inspired me and helped me grow as an educator,” said Sheets.

Mason Schools Make AP Honor Roll for Significant Gains in Student Performance, Access

Mason High School has done it again. The Mason City School District is one of 539 districts nationally being honored by the College Board with placement on the 3rd Annual AP® District Honor Roll for simultaneously increasing access to Advanced Placement® course work while increasing the percentage of students earning scores of 3 or higher on AP Exams.
