Cody Rutowski - November
Teacher: Messer
Cody goes above and beyond the average student in pushing his academic experiences. Last year Cody was in my physics class and was extremely successful. When I asked if he was going to take AP Physics his senior year he said no because he wanted to be a lawyer and didn’t really like physics all that much. I then informed him that if he scored well enough on the AP exam he could test out of science in college and not have to take any more. He agreed and I was happy to have one more year to convince he should go into science.
At the end of 1st trimester, Cody has one of the highest grades in the class (with peers who want to major in physics / engineering) and has an analytical mind that shows a maturity most high school students do not reach.
He is also involved in Mock Trial, Speech and Debate, varsity baseball, math tutoring, physics tutoring, etc. He is a well-rounded, hard working student that is a great role model (in and out of the classroom) for his peers. Although he still wants to major in law, he applied for the Honors Program in Law at the University of Miami, and not science, Cody will be a huge success in any field he chooses.
